There You Were

There you were,
just
gazing and shit,
making this
life
up as
you went
along,
and
I was
fortunate
to
end
up in your view
all
bushy-eyed,
and ready.
Life
tangled us
up,
forcing
our oxygen levels
to
merge like
dominant
mountains
that lean
too
far
into each other
on
not so windy
days.

There you were,
just
facing in the
right shade
of
the sun,
and I was
there
with
all of my glamor
and
frills,
just waiting
for
your stage
appearance.

See,
there you
were
inside of my soul,
and
I
got to be
very
quiet for once,
if
only to hear your
poetry
slowly falling
into
place.
