Asking For Easy

Stop
asking for easy,
since this life
cares
less that
you ask,
but more that
you
know the difference
between
what you
have earned
and
what you deserve.

Stop
asking for easy,
and
let these
trees fall in place,
without
the GPS
coordinates
dictating
their
descent.
It isn’t
the noise
heard,
but rather
the newness
of
where we end
up
that matters.

Stop asking
for easy,
as time
nor taxes
will give up their teeth,
and
this distance
we share just
mayadd her flavor
to
the mix.

So,
listen when this
poet
speaks,
and let
our moments linger
just
a
bit longer,
since
our
easy
just got easy
and I’m
only
here
to remind you.
