Blowing Our Cover

Oh, baby.
We
are getting too loose
for
this life,
filled with the layers
of
what we
need to do,
aligned
with
the
crosshairs
that pinpoint
our decisions.

We are
getting too strong
for these weak muscles,
so let’s
not
blow our cover
in this
undercover
sting
of sorts. Like
an inspector
who
forgets
to jot down
the in between
notes,
or
a doctor
who lets
his degrees
speak
too much.

See,  we are
here
and acutely
in the present tense.
Let time
heal these wounds,
so
our true moment will
find itself
through the same path
we
found each
other.
