Unless You Decide

untitled31

I’m
game if you
are,

unless
you decide
otherwise
that
this love
will
serve a
different
purpose.

Like
the moon
does
if the tides
just
can’t get
right.

I’m
game if you
are,

unless
you decide
that
these
past months
making
pasta Primavera,
building up
sand castles,
and
fixing up
bed sheets
to
carry us
home just
won’t cut it.

I’m
just
making
a poet’s
point
in saying
that
I’m
game if you
are,

unless
you decide to
up
the
ante and
beat me
to the
next
kiss.

Right Then Left

Pic

I’ve
learned
that
love
fits us
like
two gloves
that
like to
drag
long days
along
to
only
find that
inch
of skin
to
skin
in between.

If we’re
lucky,
we should
get to
fall
like
branches do
on
wind-filled
days,
but
without the
cause and effect
of what’s
to come.

See,
what
I’m saying,
is
that
we are
destined
to
be tied
to
our hips,
thighs,
and all those
bones
in between,
so
let’s start
this morning
with
your lips
making a
shimmy
towards mine.
