Let’s Pretend We’re Home

Let’s
pretend
we’re
home,
with white
light
dampening
the
newness
of the
morning,
and
forcing us
to
roll
yet again
into the
togetherness
we’ve
missed
so
much.

Let’s
cover up
in loose
sheets,
and
fall back into
our
younger days
where
fancy-free,
elegance,
and a slow
clock
simply saunter
across
the sky
unnoticed
and
unfiltered.

So,
for once,
let’s pretend
we’re home
and
close
every door
and
open every
window,
so
that
poetry
may find us
when
we need
her the
most.
