The Newness Of The Years

The
newness
of
the
years
fall like
leaves,
damp
to the touch,
and
with
Maple
memories
stamped
in
between
the veins,
layers,
and
fragrances.

They
seem to
drift
to
and fro
as if they
never
knew any
other
way
to drift.

We’re
finding
ourselves growing
up,
listening
to
the silent
pauses
that
guide us
to
that place
of
comfort.
It’s
the newness
of
the
years
that bring
us
closer
to
God;
without
hesitation,
and
those leaves
fall
with
normal
resistance
that
life carries.
