From Where I Sat

From
where I
sat,
everything
looked
as
if the
moon
wrapped
himself
around
you,
tightly bound
and
with
hush on
the brain.

From where
I sat,
I could
dance around
freedom
and
sing until
the
Blues gave
way,
and you
would
smile if
only
to see
me
do the
same.

I may
be
only a
poet,
but
from where
I sat,
it
would
only
take a
stern
eye
to
make
Zeus finally
give
meaning
to
the beauty
before
my
eyes.
