That Day Will Come

Now,
if we’re
suppose
to laugh
at the
small stuff,
then
let’s dance
until
the dawn’s
new day
and wake up
when
we’re
only a
few inches
after bliss;
and let’s
carry
forward our
deepest
wishes
for
the willing
and
persistent.

And
if I’m wrong,
let’s
get a running
start
and
fall
in and
throughout
the
pessimistic rain
drops,
then let’s
fly
away to
Idaho, and
make
a fire
that
sets us apart
from
the rest
of
those
ones
over
there.

And
lastly,
if we’re
guided by the
light
of yesterday,
then
let’s run
like fire
ontop
of fire
and pray
that our
day
will soon
come
where I get
to
walk
hand and
hand, toe
and toe,
and heart and
heart
with
you in hopes
that
our days
lend
themselves
to
centuries.
